MAXACE HERON-K - MIDNIGHT CAT DESIGN

Another great knife from  the Midnight Cat Design team and Maxace, the Heron-K is the budget version of the more expensive Heron. Still has the Axis Lock but with more budget friendly materials.

Featuring a slim gentleman's profile and only weighing 144 grams it's sure to become an EDC favorite.

The slim 96mm Bohler K110 steel blade is long enough to get the heavier jobs done and closes with an Axis lock system.

The Heron-K comes in three models - black G10, white G10 or brown micarta.

Available in very limited numbers like all Midnight Cat knives.

Heron-K, almost all the way.

Axis Lock: better than the brand we associate with this lock. Lots of fun to open and close.
Blade: more stabby than slicey, but very nicely done.
Handle: a bit blocky, but no obvious hotspots for my medium sized hands.
Wish-list: I wish it had a back-spacer instead of a barrel-spacer, so the handle was more rigid, but this is a minor issue.
In conclusion: worth buying for the lock and blade, as long as you are comfortable with a less than ideal handle shape.
I also have the high-end version of the Heron, so please go and read my review if you want more information.
